One-on-one reading tutoring service using the Orton-Gillingham approach

About me:
Lisa Collier
Delivering Exceptional Tutoring Service to Students from Kindergarten to Grade 4*
I hold a BSE in Secondary English Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a current Pennsylvania Level I teaching certificate. After passing the KPERRI exam in June 2021, I am now certified to teach the Orton-Gillingham reading approach and am also CERI certified. I have been teaching in various aspects over the past few decades and am currently a handwork assistant at the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh. Since my oldest child was diagnosed with dyslexia a few years ago, I have been learning about dyslexia which led me to the Orton-Gillingham training program through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE). I have thoroughly enjoyed tutoring a few students this past year for my practicum program. My hope is to support students who struggle with reading, giving them the skills needed to be effective readers.

My family and I have lived in Pittsburgh, PA for almost 16 years, but three of those years were spent living overseas. I love making things with my hands: sewing, knitting, painting, cooking and writing!
